Vacuum Tank / Water Trough
For Medical & Industrial Tubing,
Profiles
Wayne Yellow Jacket® Vacuum Tanks are designed for Vacuum sizing of
tubing for medical and industrial uses as well as precision rod and profile
manufacturing. They are ideal for making precision tubes for medical uses
including insertion tubes and catheter sheaths as well as making other
disposable items such as drinking straws and protection tubes for electronic
devices. They were designed to meet the high quality demands of the medical
industry, but are modestly priced. Wayne Yellow Jacket® Vacuum Tanks have
some unique features:
- Dual purpose means that every Wayne Yellow Jacket® tank can be used
with vacuum for sizing or without vacuum for cooling free extruded tubes or
profiles. Separate controls for the water pump and the vacuum system allow this
flexibility in operation. Vacuum enhanced free extrusion is also available, in
situations where a low level vacuum is used to maintain roundness but the
extrudate is not sized by direct contact with vacuum tooling.
- High precision Vacuum is achieved through a unique Wayne designed dry
vacuum system that does not rely on water flow to generate vacuum. This is
superior to systems that require a water ring vacuum pump or venturi system
which are subject to fluctuation. Each fluctuation in vacuum is a potential
variation in the tubing, so Wayne developed this system to avoid these common
problems.
- Recirculating water is provided with a 30 gallon reservoir system that
includes a pump, replaceable cartridge filter and heat exchanger. The heat
exchanger system insures that the water used in the vacuum and cooling tank does
not come into contact with the water from a heater/chiller. This is especially
important in medical applications.
- Easy adjustment is achieved by the Wayne XYZ movement system with locking
ratchet adjustment on the X , threaded adjustment on the Y and handwheel up/down
adjustment on each side of the tank for easy alignment in critical production
situations.
- Pre-skinning chamber is available as an option for processing sticky
materials such as PVC or PU that are commonly used in medical and industrial
applications.
- Servo air controls are available as an option that allow the vacuum level
to be adjusted by pot control or by a signal from a PLC line control. This
allows the entire line to be set up from a PLC recipe without operator
intervention.
- Power: 230/1/60 or 50Hz . 110V also available.
- Custom sizes are available such as special length vacuum sections and
cooling troughs to meet any application.
