Static Mixer - Melt Blending System

The Wayne Yellow Jacket Melt Blending System is recommended in any application which either requires a thermally homogenized blend, as is required in the tight tolerance extrusion of precision products and/or applications where two or more materials such as color masterbatch with virgin material or blends of virgin with regrind are used. The Wayne Yellow Jacket Melt Blending System contains very efficient static mixing elements that homogenize the polymer melt as it enters the extruder die. The mixing elements are virtually indestructible and create a low pressure drop.

In both New and Retrofit situations, The Wayne Yellow Jacket Melt Blending System helps to achieve:

Elimination of thermal and composition gradients
Reduced colorant and additive usage
Streak free product
Improved quality when using regrind material
Wall thickness and gauge control uniformity
Foam cell size and distribution uniformity in foamed products

Improved mechanical characteristics

The system features highly efficient static mixing elements that homogenize the polymer melt. Mixing elements are constructed of heat-treated 17-4 PH Stainless Steel. The Wayne Yellow Jacket Melt Blending System is placed between the extruder and the die adaptor and achieves excellent distributive mixing of the melt. The Wayne Yellow Jacket Static Melt Blending System is comprised of the aforementioned Extrusion Mixer elements, flanges custom designed to mate to the front end of the barrel and to the extrusion die on the other end, and a band heater with thermocouple.
