Whether you need a line that can make monofilament samples from only a few grams of material using a 1/4" extruder, a larger lab / small production system using a 1" or 1 1/4" extruder or any extruder size in between, Wayne Monfilament and Multifilament systems can meet your needs. If you already have an extruder, Wayne downstream equipment can be adapted to fit it! These lines are built with the researcher in mind, and allow experiments to be conducted that are both valid and reliable since Wayne Bantam and larger lab spinning systems are scaled down from the larger production machines they are meant to emulate. For example, the extruders are feed end driven, using the industry standard screw design for easy scale up translation and heavy duty double reduction helical gearboxes instead of light duty worm gearboxes for reliability from run to run. The Bantam lines can fit on a lab bench and the extruder can be fitted with other downstream equipment for other processes like tubing, cast & blown film, sheet, wire coating and other applications.
Individual components that match up to existing extruders or complete systems can be provided. These include:
- 1/4" to 5/8" Bantam Desktop Extruders or Larger Lab Extruders up to 1 1/4"
- Breaker plate and Screen filter pack
- Optional Melt pump
- Spin head with quick change single or multiple spinnerets as per customer requirement
- Water trough
- Godet station #1 with digital FPM meter (number of godets per station can vary)
- Oven with temperature control
- Godet station #2
- Optional Annealing Oven and Godet #3
- Bantam Universal Traverse Winder

High accuracy drives are used in the extruder, optional melt pump, and godets for reliable orientation ratios over the production run.
