They are called universal because they are very flexible and are easily set up to wind different products.

Variable torque settings allow the line to maintain line tension at the optimum level. Since both over tension and under tension can be major winding problems it is important to maintain the proper line tension. The Wayne Yellow Jacket Bantam Universal Winder features "set it and forget it," operation, allowing you to concentrate on your work! Mechanical torque adjustment is standard, but electronic torque adjustment via a pot is also available as an option.

Variable maximum speed is important in winding also. Without adjustable speed, torque based winders will always run at full speed, making them difficult to work with. The Wayne Yellow Jacket Universal Winder has a electronic pot adjustment which is designed so the maximum speed of the winder can be easily adjusted. This helps in both starting up the line and during operation.

Optional traverse is available for winding fiber, fiber optic cable, monofilament, tubing, rod, insulated wire and other products that require a traverse for level winding.

Quick change chuck allows you to change cores easily without extra tools.
